My name is Tonny Lukalo. I live in Uasin Gishu County Annex Estate. I come from a family of 12 children. I am the 1st born in our family. I am a Christian with Living Rock church. I went to Cheplaskei High School and now am working in my farm as a farmer with my wife. I have attended Bukura training institute which has horticultural courses and later went to Naivasha which has a veterinary. This has helped me to have an idea of farming. But due to lack of finances, I was not able to grow from what little I have. Where I stay, people think that farming is meant for old or retired ones and you can't get money for the whole family but for me it has really helped me feed and keep my children in school. One of my children wants to be a vet doctor.
As a farmer, I have been involved in this field for 2 years and am planting vegetables and tomatoes, onions, etc. In our area, many schools and families need these items and they are using them a lot. I chose this kind of business because of high demand on the ground and in the community around us. It is also my passion to plant and sell for money so my family can have something to put on the table and to take them to school.
I will buy water pump 234 US dollars, water pipe at 30 US dollars, Tow bags of D.A.P. 47 US dollars and insect side at 21 US dollars the remaining 60 US dollars will pay my son's school fees for first term. i expect my profit to increase by around 15% thanks.
