I was born in 30th March , 1993 in Eldama Ravine constituency Baringo county, I later joined my primary school in Maji Mazuri Roman Catholic primary school and finished in 2006 and joined Flamingo secondary school in Nakuru County and completed my secondary in the year 2010 I later joined South Eastern University College (SEUCO) Kitui branch and did my Diploma in education. I attend Solid Rock fellowship church which is located at kenlands near (shabab) Nakuru town approximately 1km from Nakuru town. Currently I stay in Shabab estate near P.C.E.A medical centre approximately almost a kilometer form Nakuru town.
I operate a single shop located at Ngata 7 kilometers from Nakuru town I have been operating it for the last two and a half years. I sell fast moving food stuff which present a ready market. I also sell cereals such as Maize, Beans (all types) peas, kamande and Maize flour. I buy the cereals during harvesting season from the shamba when they are very cheap and then dry them, treat with pesticides to avoid piercing by the weevils to maintain their quality awaiting the higher prices. Cereal business is profitable because most of the families use them as a staple food and therefore it has a consistent demand through the year. The competition is not high because I buy the cereal during harvesting season when it is very cheap and sell them at a fair price. My customers are learning institutions who provide lunch programmes to the students i.e. primary schools, secondary schools who buy in large quantities, I use expenses of 150,000 in a month to cater for transport, rent, electricity, purchases and pesticides and have an average of 200,000 a month.
We are again facing the harvesting season in Nakuru Town and its environs i.e Sobea, Miti moja and Rongai. These places are approximately 30-40 kilometers from Nakuru Town. Inhabitants of these areas own large parcels of farms/Lands and engage in farming. They specialize on Maize Wheat and Beans. I am very grateful to the zidisha family for giving me yet another opportunity to improve my business and hence my life economically, I will use my second loan to buy Maize and Beans in large stocks to enjoy economies of scale and invest part of it on insecticides to ensure that cereals are not attacked by insects such as weevils so that come next year I will be able to have enough to satisfy my ever increasing customers, God Bless.
