About Me

I was born to Mr and Mrs James Nyongesa, and I am I am the second born in a family of six children. My parents are peasant farmers and my life as a young girl was tough. We slept hungry on several occasions and I was determined to change this. I walked long distance to school, bearing in mind that education would change my life some day. I went to Solio Day Secondary School and passed well. I then joined Kenya Medical Training Institute with the support of well-wishers. I worked hard and graduated with a diploma in nutrition and dietetics.

I worked for the Red Cross as a volunteer for three months, and this is when I realized that malnutrition was a big problem in Kenya. Child mortality rate is too high due to malnutrition. When my contract ended, I decided to use my expertise in the nutrition field to formulate cheap and nutritious flour for kids. I prepare flour under a very clean and conducive environment and sell it to children's mothers at cheap, affordable price. This helps in reducing diseases related to malnutrition and boosting the immunity of the children.

I love children and spend a lot of time in orphanages and streets talking to children. I try convincing street children [to go to orphanages] and, once they agree, I take them to orphanages so that they can lead normal lives.

My Business

My enterprise provide nutritious flour to underweight and malnourished children. The flour is made of assorted grains, e.g. maize, millet, sorghum, cassava, groundnuts, soya, simsim, and omena. The final production contains all the necessary nutrients a kid requires to grow healthy. The demand for the flour is too high because it's affordable to the target clients and provides all the necessary nutrients that leave both the mum and child smiling, creating a happy family free from diseases.

I choose these business because of my love for children, and I am happy the flour is helping create more healthy and happy families at the least cost.

I spend $100 each week for the grains, milling and packaging. My weekly revenue is $150. I use my business proceeds for business expansion so that I can serve more people, and also to support my family and my needs.

Loan Proposal

Hello dear lenders, please support me so that I can buy a weighing scale for the flour. I currently use tins that are not accurate for measuring. I would wish to have accurate measurement for the benefit of my clients and for my benefit too. The new weighing scale would help me measure and pack the flour in a better and more hygienic way. The cost of the weighing scale is $130, and my savings will help me fill the gap. Thank you.
