About Me

Born in 1985, my name is George.

I have studied till university level where, pursuing a law degree, I dropped out of law school in 2006 due to unmanageable fees.

I got into employment in August the same year till Dec 2009, where I was laid off in the 8th batch of lay-offs following a successive and massive company downsizing.

These two handicaps in my life were at their time of happening, the worst events of my life, but soon after I realized they were the MOST beneficial events, seeing that they were just guides to set me on my true path - entrepreneurship. I resolved from these experiences to become two things: a problem solver and not a lawyer, an employer and not an employee.

Having dropped out of school, I now could study any choice subject with liberty from a laid down curriculum and even more accurately - studying the subject matter that I needed at the time to resolve a present or future problem and not to study a subject for the sole purpose of passing an exam.

As well, having been laid off and resolved to become an employer, I had the opportunity to shape my life as I determined and not as my circumstances or boss determined. It gave control over my life back to me – a good thing.

I believe entrepreneurship is about solving a problem; the bigger the problem, the bigger the enterprise. The more the problems, the more the enterprises. I have thus, since 2009 given myself to the study of problems and their best solutions.

Looking back, nowhere, not even in University have I been this schooled or educated in my life. As far as being in control of my life’s destiny, well, shunning employment in favor of entrepreneurship is definitely the most arduous path I have ever walked – and only in hindsight can I say it is worth it; in foresight, it is terrifying and exciting; thrilling.

Out of the much study, I have narrowed down to a particular problem that I feel sufficiently passionate to troubleshoot and resolve; the problem of weight gain, weight loss and weight maintenance. And hence the birth of my own enterprise under the brand name Weight Management Center Ltd - a registered company under the laws of Kenya.

Does this account endear me to you? I cannot tell, but it is a true account – that much I attest.

My Business

So, Weight Management Center Ltd as the ideal solution to weight loss, weight gain and weight maintenance – most definitely this is not a new problem, neither is my firm the first to endeavor at resolving this concern. This problem has existed for as long as man has known food.

What then sets my company apart?

In our country Kenya, none of the players in the industry have managed to effectively turn this solution from being event based [as it is presently] to lifestyle based [as it ought to be] – so that a client adopts a novel and healthy lifestyle that steers them towards their weight goal and once there, maintain it with ease.

Many are those that offer event solutions, meaning it is a one-off thing that helps you get to your target but once there, becomes expensive to carry on with it either due to time or cost restrictions.
My firm believes that weight management is and should be dealt with as a lifestyle concern, and to make this a possibility, our catalog offers readymade organic foods on-the-go according to a predetermined meal plan, customized to fit the needs of the individual. As well, we offer workshops to train on culinary skills with the intent of institutionalizing healthy eating and cooking habits. Still on our catalog is providing fresh and raw organic food ingredients. Lastly, we train and consult on what exercises would be best and easily affordable based on ones schedule, abilities and objective.

It is a fact that people become obese because of what they eat and not necessarily because of lack of physical exercise. Thus the culprit is excess food leading to excess energy in the body, which is converted to fat. What if one was able to much the amount of food they eat to how much they need? This is why Weight Management Center Ltd was birthed.

At our firm, we are aware that there are many players in this field, and numerous effective products especially for weight loss and weight gain. On this, we argue not. However, we contend that there are not many that are effective at helping one maintain their weight at a constant. We also contend that despite their existence, obesity and other weight-related illnesses are on the rise as opposed to a decline.

As is everyone, it is our aim to be successful, and it is a common disease to many to overate their workmanship or ideas. Sobriety will thus instruct us to be level headed and constructively critic our work. We want to think we have done this, exercised due diligence, put together the best team, laid down proper business policies to help us achieve our mission [To equip the individual with the right information and proper resources necessary to achieve and maintain their desired body weight, shape, muscular tone and complete bodily health] and vision which states ‘Fit, built and well toned individuals throughout Africa’.

Loan Proposal

This being our initial loan request using this platform, our credit limit is maxed at KES 7464, approximately USD 75.

As such, we have requested the maximum of the same to allow us to access a higher credit limit upon repayment.

Thus we request this first amount to prove our credit worthiness, upon which we shall seek our target loan figure, which is approximately USD 9,930 for use to set up a commercial kitchen fitted with kitchen equipment, cutlery, food packaging material and a motorbike for doorstep deliveries of our meals.

This first loan request will mostly go towards servicing the costs of using this online platform.
