am christina kanini muthuli i live in mtwapa kenya.am married i live with my husband and my family together. am blessed with children i have seven children i have two girls and five boys. the two girls were married they have their own family now and i now stay with the five whom three they are in high school and the other two in primary school. my education background is class eight i mean primary school i started this business first thing was to get money so that i can be able to educate my family so that they can get a better education for themselves that it would help them for their future. and second was also to earn some money so that i could manage to meet my daily needs to sustain my living with my earnings from my business i do purchase things for my family and paying of school fees to them and the rest i add my stocks into my business so that i can get more or earn good profit through sales.this has been a good business since i started it am able to meet my family needs. this is a profitable business saying this means am satisified with what i do. in a month i get an income of ksh 25,000 per month. With this income i buy food for the family and also pay school fees for my children.
I have two businesses at the same place, this is, i sell charcoal and also have a borehole at the same place.I first started with the borehole, and after saving for sometime i then started the charcoal business. Before i started any business my children had problems with school fees, and even food was a problem. A good Samaritan offered to help us so when i was asked what i wanted, i told him to make a borehole because in my area we had a problem getting water from long distance. I thank God in a few weeks the borehole was ready. this was like a miracle to me as i had got something to keep my family. So i did this business for two years hoping the good Samaritan would be back to see how we were getting along, the next year i got the bad news, he was dead! I had nothing to do other than stay and wonder what will happen next. A friend of mine one day came to visit me and that's when she gave me the idea of charcoal business, it sounded wonderful and i decided to start this business. Its a good business and am happy with what am currently achieving as a result to this combination of business. I admit, this is a good business, because in a month i get an income of ksh.25.000 after all expenses. With this` earning i use ksh 2,000 paying electricity,ksh8,000 am paying my helper and since i live in my own house i dont pay any rent. so in a month i save ksh 15,000 per month, which i spare ksh 10,000 and the remaining ksh 5,000 is used to add stock . This business has risks too, like when it rains the charcoal is hard to find since the charcoal processors depend on sunshine to process the charcoal.
with this loan i will use it in expanding my business in this by adding more stocks of bank of charcoal into my charcoal vendor and i will use ten thousand to buy firewood as well as they are on high demand here. and ti will use ksh 25,000 to buy the charcoals and use the rest five thousand to pay for the transport of the goods to bring them into my shop for marketing or for sale.
