About Me

my name is joseph wambui ,28 year old male Kenyan citizen. I have one wife and we are blessed with a 9 months old baby girl. since i was a child i have always improvised things for daily use .i.e. i made my own toys which left many people amazed. The best invention in my childhood was a plastic truck from a car lubricant container which had working head lights. This passion drove me to do a course in automotive engineering.
unemployment being one of the main challenges in my country i failed to acquire a permanent job in the automotive industry. I worked in construction industry as a window panes technician, electrician assistant and that taught me a big lesson .with all the hardships i encountered i was able to get funds to buy tools both hand tools and electric tools to facilitate my working. Early 2021 a client sent me to get a classy table lamp for his newly constructed house but did not find an affordable lamp according to his budget. That triggered my mind to make an affordable and beautiful lamps for my fellow citizens. People in my country spend a lot of resources in making their homes beautiful. This became a good opportunity for me. During my free time i love swimming as it makes me feel relaxed i also love visiting various towns as it adds my creativity .

My Business

I make beautiful yet affordable mobile phone holders, table lamps, wall mounting lamps, ceiling hanging lamps and floor standing lamps from recycled PVC waste pipes and electric conduit pipes. my products are unique since they come from my own creativity and they are very affordable to anyone. The demand for my products is rising day by day this is through the marketing campaigns in social media and referrals from my clients. I have been able to employ many people some directly and some indirectly. Due to my creativity and skills gathered over the years i saw this as the place i belong and thus decided to start the business . Turning a hobby into a business is somehow a difficult transition and requires a lot of patience. The products i make give me a profit that is half of the selling price, the other half is the cost of production. i.e. if a product costs 10$,cost of production is 5$ and profit is 5$.the profits i get i save 50% for growing the business and other business related projections,50% is used in business expenses

Project Proposal

I need funds to fabricate my workshop, this includes making working benches ,building storage cabinets and drawers so as it accommodate 4 people currently i only have one working bench. This is limiting the growth of the business since mass production is not possible in such an environment. Fabricating the workshop will ease working, make the workshop organized and this will allow us to produce more products hence the sales will go up and the business will grow tremendously.
proposed budget
timber 14000
plywood 5000
block board 7000
nails, screws, hinges, handles, paints 4000
labor 8000
miscellaneous 2000
total 40,000

projected income

4 people produce 20 products per day x 6 days =120 products per week x ksh 300 per item =36000 per week
