Mwansa Mulenga is my name , I come from a humble background. I was raised by a single parent and my mother died when I was 5 years old. Growing with my father was not easy for me. My father was a fisher man and most of time I was keeping up with grandmother. My education background is very poor as I did not complete my secondary school very well. The reason being that my father was unable to pay for my school fees hence I dropped out school. Having dropped of out school , still I did not give up on school, I kept pushing looking for financial support to enrolled back in school. Having a background of a father who was a fisher man I decided to venture into fish farming for me to earn a living and support myself to pay school fees. However, I became an entrepreneur in fish farm and through fish farming I raised funds to pay for my school and managed to complete my secondary school. In my free time , I go to the Library to study and do some research in my school work. Joining Zidisha community family is a great opportunity for me to even work hard to expand and develop my business.
I'm involved in fish farming which I sale and supply to business women in our community. Fish is highly in high demand in our community and it is very profitable. The only challenge I have is lack of fishing nets especially the 2 inch , 3 inch and the inch to catch different sizes of fish for sale and to meet customer's demand. The funds I need is to buy the fishing nets and the leather jacket which will cost me ZMW 7000.00 And projection are that once I buy these fishing nets I will be catching more fish in the lake and my profits will increase from ZMW 1500, the current profit to ZMW 2500.00. However, these profits will be used to grow the business, pay school fees and improve the living standard of my family.
