I am Nuella Korto, born and nurtured at Mepe in the Volta Region of Ghana. I attended and completed Mepe Roman Catholic Junior High School.
However, due to financial difficulties I went and learnt seamstressing at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. I chose to learn a trade because with this trade I can earn a living at my small level of life and can support my family.
After passing out successfully, I managed to buy a sewing machine and opened my own sewing shop which I operate till today at Mepe, my hometown in the Volta Region.
I am a seamstress and I sew unisex dresses.
Unlike the ancient days where people used to walk naked, the rhythm has changed in our time as clothes are now part of our basic necessities of life just as Maslow stated. This is why dresses are useful and have high demands on the market.
I chose this kind of business because, among other things, I have passion for it and believe I will excel in it.
Typically, the costs I incur are cost of materials (fabrics), electricity charges and repairs and maintenance of the machine.
I use the profits from my business to repair and maintain the machine, reinvest into the business and support my family and other needy individuals around me.
Currently, my machine broke down because of its old nature so I am out of business. However, there's someone in town who leases sewing machines at a cost of USD (GHS 10.00) per month.
In view of this, I humbly wish to apply for a loan of GHS 79.00 (USD 20.00) to lease a sewing machine so I can use it to sew during the Yuletide to enable me save money towards buying an electric machine.
It would therefore be my joy if highly estimable Zidisha lenders could please approve my loan so I can return to business.
My humble application respectfully submitted for your review and approval.
Thank you.
