I grew up in a village at a time when the sole bread winner in the family had lost his job. I had therefore to sell eggs and home-grown vegetables to pay for my monthly/termly assessments. I started rearring chicken when I was in grade five and bought my first sheep when I was in the sixth grade: this later helped me to pay my fees and other levies in my schooling.
I am currently under-employed as a teacher in a private primary school. I also run a small business assisted by my wife. I sell charcoal, processed milk and eggs. My source of income is derived from the proceeds of the business and my monthly salary.
I'll acquire a small room from where I'll be selling. I'll also increase my stock. My customers will get a variety of items like eggs from both indigenous and exotic breeds. They will also get milk in different brands. I'll increase my rate of stock turn over by increasing my working hours in the room as opposed to working in the open. This is likely to increase my profit by about 50%.
