My name is Hillary Aura born in Bungoma County in Western Province Kenya. I went to school at Lupida primary school. I faced challenges like witchcraft and black magic but God is good, all is in the past, I later transferred to town school (Mumias Complex Prim nary school where completed my primary education. I joined Sagero SDA secondary school in Uasin Gishu County and completed my O' level. After O' level I joined Masinde Muriro University College and pursued ICT and Networking and general computer science. I then joined Kisumu Polytechnic and did craftsman in Mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics Diploma. I later met a pastor in Kisumu who challenged me to start a business and she entrusted me with electronics. She offered me a space where i could repair clients gadgets like laptops, printers and phones. we then advanced to video recording studio. After a while I moved to Kisii to visit a friend. It is here that I realized that this town had an opportunity for me. I looked for a small space because of little capital. I started as a computer service where I could register as little as 43/- per day. To date my income has increased and I wish to expand even further. The money I'll receive from zidisha lenders will enable do the expansion.
Contently I sell movies as well as repairing of computers, laptops and general electronics. These services are in demand because computers break down every other day, laptop problems and power surge which occur over and over. Therefore, the demand for these services is very high and that is what motivates me the most. More people are acquiring these gadgets every day but the technical support is not there for most people and these is where I see the opportunity to utilize. In my my shop shop i Have one employee who assist me in doing the job and that is where I have a monthly expense. The other expense is the Rent which I pay monthly to the landlord. I use my profits to pay for my accommodation in Kisii town because this is not my home town, I also use it for increasing my stock to avoid delaying customers and the remaining amount as a saving.
Though the journey was fair in my business.,it was also challenging. Now i can see light at the end of the tunnel. The reasons are too important why i would need a laptop.
1.convertion of the data movies.
As the movies are downloaded.,they are in their raw form and cannot be played directly. So they have to be converted in order to work.
2.Frequent power outages
In Kenya, kisii town leads in power outages if one not wrong. Conversion of movies totally depends on steady supply of electricity. If I convert using my office of and lights go out, that conversion is spoilt as I will have to re-program the conversion again, too tiresome. But with the laptop whether the lights flicker as they wish or total blackout, the job will have to carry on due to the battery available.
3.faster conversion.
If at all I could get an i5 or i7 machine, heavens will have come down to dine with me but I would be comfortable if I get an i3 machine and that's the least I would expect comparing to my single core office desktop which can't multitask
