About Me

Hi, i am Jacob Muya Mwaniki an entrepreneur in Kenya.I am a 32yrs old male single with an undergraduate degree From Kenyatta University.I have been running my dairy farming business since 2020.

My Business

I am running dairy farm in my parents home in Shamata in Nyandarua county (Kenya) with 1 lactating cow (8-10ltrs per day & a heifer currently 6months incalf. I sell my milk to milk companies including brookside dairy company & nyala sacco at a milk price of between kshs40-50 per litre.
After consumption i supply between 6-8litres of milk to the dairy companies equating to around kshs8000 ($70) per month gross revenue.
I vitally need a chaff cutter to help in chopping maize & other cow fodder for ensiling so that i can have nutritious feed all year. Which translates to more high pedigree cows, more milk & hence more money especially during dry season when milk prices are high.Chaff cutter costs around kshs50000 ($500)

Project Proposal

For a sustainable dairy farming business 1st thing is to ensure one has constant supply of feeds/fodder all year. This is done by ensiling fodder in this case maize/corn. Therefore With my 1st credit limit kshs 3400 ill use to buy molasses 20litres costs (kshs1800) and a silage polythene bag (10metres) costs kshs160 per metre.

    H Jacob,
Your post says you're asking for a chaff cutter at cost of $500 but requesting a $24 loan. How do you intend to pay for the balance of the chaff cutter? or is this a result of different currencies ?
Thanks for taking the time to answer!
