About Me

I am Richard. I grew up in Western Kenya. I came to Nairobi for undergraduate studies at the University of Nairobi. In Nairobi, I have worked as an online marketing and tour consultant for 14 years. I run a blog at how.co.ke and an online business at hawlast.com.

My Business

I am as of March 2024 now back in Nairobi. My online business at hawlast.com is growing well and can cater to operations. I manage 30 websites for clients and get a small annual fee from each website owner. My services include search engine optimization, Speed optimization, and software development. The typical costs include hosting space for my website, rent, and internet connection costs.
Almost 70% profit from the business goes towards paying living expenses. This year I have got more customers and I will have some room to do digital advertising

Project Proposal

I freelance as a software developer and manage over 30 websites at the moment. I will use the fund to sign up for a stable home fiber internet connection.

At the moment I use my phone as a hotspot and not cost-effective. I borrowed here Ksh 4000 and paid an ISP. They however do not serve my location. So they refunded me today.

I have already researched for a new ISP who serves our area and they charge kSH 5000.
