About Me

I am known as Lilian Chebett. And well known using my nickname as Lily. I schooled at Kilimani Primary school in Turbo and joined Turbo girls High school for my secondary education After completing high school i never joined the university because my parent lacked the ability to take me to the university i was therefore forced to stop schooling and venture into businesses to sustain my living.
My mother who strongly believed in me encouraged me not to give up in life and gave me some money to start up a small business. I started selling fruits at the University gate called Annex University using the 100 Us dollars that i was given by my mother. I have seen through my small business growing into greater heights day by day.
I therefore came to start my business near the University gate using the little cash that i had. I thank my mother for the support and looks forward to continue expanding and growing my business. I am a mother of three and i really struggle had to educate them and see through that they work hard to realize there goals in life.

My Business

i sell fruits and fresh juice to the locals in Annex Eldoret as well as students from Moi University. I sell bananas, mangoes, oranges, Water melons, apples and nearly all kinds of fruits you can think of.
the goods that i offers is very useful because they are source of vitamins to our bodies and thus very important and vital. They are also on demand because i am strategically located in a place where students pass as they go for there classes as well as when they go back to there hostels they also pass near my stand. They therefore purchase this fruits on bulk.
i chose this kind of business because around the school nobody had thought to start this business therefore i was the first person to do the business. The market for my commodity was also quite convenient for me.
i intend to use the profits generated together with loan from zidisha to construct a permanent stand where i can keep my fruits and avoid moving them each and every day to my house.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan if granted to construct a permanent stand where i can be keeping my fruits. Therefore if given 248 Us dollars i will add 152 Us dollars to the loan making it 400 Us dollars. I will use this money to buy construction materials for example Iron sheets, Nails, wood, seats and also pay the carpenter.
I will benefit from this because i will be storing my goods in a safe place and thus reduce the transport cost that i always incur each day transporting them to my house and back to my stand. My customers will also benefit because they will have a stand that they can shade on and enjoy taking there fruits and juice
I expect to make a profit of 40 Us dollars from my small business. An increase margin from 20 Us dollars each day to 40 Us dollars.
