My name is Virginia Wanjiku. I am a Kenyan citizen. I reside in the Miroreni area of Nakuru County, near Kabazi town. I am a mother with 1 kid who is at her early schooling. I am an entrepreneur and I started selling clothes about 2 years ago. I have worked within various sectors as a casual laborer before venturing into the business world; this has made me grow well because of the discipline I acquired from the employment fraternity. I get my clothes stock mostly from Nakuru town and also Nairobi because of the quality and good prices. I am an active member of my local church in Kabazi and do also participate in community service activities.
I run a clothing sales business. The clothes business is so viable as the business is so good and it doesn't make someone to be more exhausted in stock taking every evening. The business is located in Kabazi Town Centre. Doing this business encourages me so much because the new clothes move very fast due to the high number of people visiting the town and the growing population in Kabazi town at large and the farming. The community is at least financially stable. That's why the people have to dress smartly and that is why the business is so good and more profitable. I have been able so far to sustain my family and myself with the profit I get from total sales.
To get my business moving, I usually stock it after every 3-4 weeks and I usually buy the new clothes.
First, I thank you for my second loan. It was a success and my business has now improved. With this third loan, I propose to stock a new line of clothes (new clothes). I will be obtaining the stock from business partners who buy in wholesale in neighboring Uganda and sell to us in wholesale. They sell to us at favorable prices and the profit margins are usually high. I will be stocking men's shirts (kitenge) and ladies' clothes made of kitenge. The design from Uganda is marketable since I have few other business doing the same around me. I will take advantage of the customers that are loyal at the moment and also explore new markets.
My names are Virginia Wanjiku I am a Kenyan citizen. I am a mother with 1 girl who is at ECD Top. I am a business lady for the last 3 years and my business being source of my livelyhood, I always strive to ensure that I give my best. During startup I faced so many challenges since i was new in the market. With experience i have learnt alot. In my first days I used to buy in small quantities and from local suppliers, this reduced my profit margins, with time I decided to get to Nairobi from suppliers and at a lower price.
My business entails sales of clothes, clothes are my main stock and it includes ladies, men, children clothes, shoes, school uniform and other clothings like caps. I also do sewing particulary children sweaters and marvins which I sell at a profit. In some days my business is not busy and hence I prefer to engage my self sewing according to customers orders. I have just completed my first wedding gown that was customized and the reaction from many of my customers and potential customers was positive. I will take this advantage to ensure that I make contacts and eventually be able to convince them that am the best.
