I am Chrispine Chishinge. I was born on 15th December 1973. I am married I have 4 children all of them girls, I went to kantanshi primary school for my primary edcuation then i finished secondary school at Mpika boys boarding school. While in secondary school I took agriculture science as an option its from there I developed interest in agriculture. I went to college and studied automotive mechanics and took farming as my side hustle until two years ago I resigned from my job and took farming fulltime.
I am not farming of maize and vegetables and I make good sales. I have allowed some women marketeers to even get my vegetables on credit then they pay after they sell, I feel this one way I also try to help my community. But most of the time I transport my fresh vegetables on a motorbike to different markets. I have been praying for additional funding until Zidisha has come my way through some friends. I am sure I will be helped also and my business will improve.
I am a farmer and I grow vegetables and maize which I sell both from my farm and also at the markets. I am applying for this amount 2,265 ZMW so that I buy pesticides for my vegetable farm. Around our farms during rain season which we are currently experience there is normally an outbreak of pests called army worms. Last year I made a losss because of army worms. This year I want to do prevention method by spraying my field. This will help me produce more and make more profit which I will use for my childrens school books as schools will be opening soon.
I am a qualified automotive mechanic and I do repair vehicles for old customers from time to time so in case the economy hits my business I can make some income using my skills in motor vehicle repairs.
