About Me

I was born in 1954 in Western Kenya that is now Kakamega County in Butere District .
I went to Primary School between 1969 to 1976 in Butere .
In Secondary School I went between 1979 to 1980 in Kisii .I am married to one wife with six children all of them are grown up ,they have graduated from the university and are taking care of themselves.
After High school a got a casual job with world vision kenya and I worked with them for 10 year.Their after out of my savings that I got during employment I used it to develop a business (poultry farming) with my wife.

My Business

As stated when I was giving my Biography, I and work with my wife in the poultry farm.We have also diversified and are now trying crop farming and animal rearing.
The Poultry farm has been in existence for over five years . We supply live chicken to the neighbors and also eggs . Due to consistency since we started we have a stable customer base.
The business is profitable because there is high demand for white meat and especially the local chicken which is what we are keeping and also the eggs which are preferred by most people.
The main challenges are diseases and feed which are very expensive especially when the birds are few in number.
My typical monthly cost of running the business is approximately US$300 while gross profit or income before these expenses is usually approximately US$480.
I have started diversifying my agribusiness to include goat keeping n half acre maize cropping to help feeding
I believe that the funding will come because if I get it now I will be able to buy many birds in readiness for the market.
We have from last year seen the need to diversify including in our business crop growing and a few animals which are doing well.

I am optimistic that 2021 year will be a better year than last year. I expect the economy to grow and therefore increase in eggs demand and consumption.. Eggs and chicken meat is vital components of foods that ordinarily cannot be escaped. Therefore demand will definitely there and hence I will make reasonable money to enable me pay. Before you begin to talk about CRB can we exhaust our internal matters first? I am a very honest member of Zidisha with a long good outstanding record of paying my loans to the full. I have never defaulted.

But now that my health has proved a challenge now you brand me a defaultor?

When I was diagnosised high sugar and presure I explained my situation on my platform and explained that I am unable to actively trade and make money enough to repay my loan. I dont need to stress myself and kill myself .

So I explained that until now my Credit Risk fee recovered at source on my loans totals ksh 125,755 and this should be offset against my loan balance. Idid not default!!!

Can you explain to me what the Credit Risk fee is for if not to cussion in times of sickness.

I am surprised that after a clear explananrion of my health condition and giving a plan of how to offset my loan balance zidisha is still following a sick person. Is it money that is more important ?

Did you read my comment of Jul 20, 2021? I have not defaulted on my loan.

Dear Zidisha I am writing to express an update on my health and business condition. Since May I was diagnosed with high sugar which has affected me seriously. I am weak and unable to move about and transact as normal. This has made it impossible to get money to repay my loan as expected/ Moreover the covid pandemic has made business difficult with people hardly consuming products as expected. The cost of medicine is very high for me.

Due to the a foregoing, I am requesting Zidisha to recover my remaining loan and recover from my Credit Risk fee which stand at :
    Ksh 21438
    Ksh 27869
    Ksh 15328
    ksh 38895
    Ksh 22225
    ___________
    ksh 125755

This will enable me to concentrate on medical expenses to deal with until I can recover then I can request for another loan.
I kindly ask my supporters to understand since this is a health matter which no one anticipate. Thanking you in advance.

The loan just completed was of great help to me because covid 19 pandemic put every one distablised economically. It would have been difficult to keep 70 chicken with feeds and vaccines. My birds are now at egg producing stage and we are supplying kienyeji eggs to the community. We also have chicken to sell to the community for meet.

We recently sold one he goat kshs 10,000 others are growing.
We intend to introduce improved chicken which seem to grow a bit quicker.

I want to thank Almighty God who has enabled all of us to survive during this period of pandemic of corona.
Business has been challenging but we have managed.
We were able to harvest 8 bags of maize

My goat is almost giving birth next month. The rest are still growing.

My chicken are growing almost beginning to lay eggs after loosing the first batch. 60 chicks will be eggs laying by April

Thanks a lot to my sponsors
