I am Victoria Abban, born on the 19th of February 1985 to Mr. Paul Odikro and Madam Comfort Odikro, all from Hohoe in the Volta region of Ghana. I attended St. Peter's Nursery and Primary School and continued to St. Peter's Junior High School and completed in 2004.
After my junior high school I proceeded to attend Tema Technical School, where I obtained a certificate in fashion designing. After school, I joined a group of fashion designers to learn more and improve my sewing skills. I did work with this group for two years to acquire more knowledge.
From there, I worked with a company that sews for exportations and in the process of working for this company is how I met my husband, Justice Abban.
Currently, I operate on my own in an advantageous environment that attracts a steady number of people in the fashion [fraternity?]. My shop is located at Ashaiman New town, opposite an ashfoam mattress and cushion depot. This shop is located about a 30-minute drive from where I live at Tema community 8. I chose this location because I get a lot of people that pass by my shop to have look at some of my products.
I do have a lot customers that still follow me from where I use work at Tema to my new shop, but the situation at hand does not permit me to work like I used to do because the electricity power to work with is not available.
I also need a show room to showcase some of my finished products to Ghanaians and natives of other countries in the community.
I will use the loan to purchase different kind of African textiles to produce clothes. Currently, African fashion is really doing very well and making a lot of money and I would like to venture into the production and sales of African fashion.
The price of these textiles are estimated at $380. I will also buy sewing materials like pins, thread, steef and repair one of my broken machine at $150 respectively.
Thank you.
