About Me

My name is Gloria Kawala a mother of 4 children. I am Zambian woman living in Kanyama compound in Lusaka. I was raised by my grandmother since my parents passed away many years ago. I completed my grade through hardship and successfully managed to complete school. I hold a certificate in business management which I did at Lusaka vocational training. I started working as administration officer at Zambia Breweries Limited. I was given a 5 year contract of which I was able to raise some capital to start up my own business of second hand clothing in the main market of central business- city market along Lumumba road.
Life is not easy in our country, you have to work hard to find finances to put food on the table. Hence after setting up the business at least am able to provide food for the family and sponsor them to go to school. Our country is peaceful and it is unique with a number of natural resources such as the mining of copper, gold and also rich in fish farming, the land is also rich in tourist attraction such as the water falls like the Mambilima falls and the famous Victoria falls and game parks such as the Luangwa national park, Mfuwe game park and the Kafue national park.
I would like my children to become medical doctors, accountants and agriculturist.

My Business

I sell second hand clothing at the city market in Lusaka town which is the capital city of Zambia. Among the clothing that I sell are ladies, men's and for boys and girls. Dresses, jerseys, shirts, skirts, jackets and ladies second hand shoes and many more when required by my customers. These goods are very much useful to the people because second clothing are cheap and affordable for the customers and the goods are highly profitable. The goods are useful for the people because new bales of second hand clothing have new latest fashionable clothing and the people buy them and they look smart and representable, hence the demand for these goods is very high. I went for this business because I easily earn good profits which help to earn a living and feed my family and pay school fees for my children and also reinvestment in expanding the business. The bale of second hand clothing are different others range from ZMW 2500.00, ZMW 3500, ZMW 4000 and ZMW 6500.00.
Hence when I buy a bale worth ZMW 3500, I earn profit of ZMW 1200.00 and if the bale was good I can earn ZMW 1500.00

Project Proposal

I needs to buy a bale of second hand clothing , men trousers and shirts and ladies dresses and a bale of second hand shoes for ladies. These goods have become in demand and should I buy and display them, the customers will buy quickly and I realise my profits very fast. The bale of men's shirts which cost me ZMW 3500.00 will be able to give me the profit if ZMW 1350.00 and the bale of ladies dresses at a cost of ZMW 4000.00 will be able to give me ZMW 1600.00 therefore, my profit will increase steadily thank you my backers for your support in advance.
