About Me

My childhood was engulfed with a lot of mischievousness, but one outstanding trait was that i used to like playing games involved in business like where i would be the purveyor and in return i was called names like "bankky" and sos " meaning a rich person.I went to st.Joseph's combined academy in Oyugis for my primary education and st.Joseph's school Rapogi for the O levels and currently am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology in University of Nairobi. Most of my hardship times i survive on loans from other micro-finances that are based locally back home and keep all records and ensure that i repay the loans from the profits accrued from the few businesses i am involved in like keeping poultry.I started the business of keeping poultry by first selling some of the local breeds i have been keeping and the borrowed a loan from my bank and topped up to purchase the graded breeds and equipment necessary for the start. My land does not any unique feature or the culture but they want people who lead as they follow. Most of the children want to be doctors and businessmen.I love writing poems and singing as well as reading swahili novels during ma free time.

My Business

My business is keeping both local and graded poultry and for the graded one are layers whereas the local one are mixed ;layers, broilers. So i do sell eggs as well as chicken meat and also sell home made manure from the poultry wastes. These goods are in high demand since i tend to keep my prices relatively constant with few fluctuations only when there are extremes on the inflation rates ,moreover my supply is reliable thus i attract many businesses. On average my monthly cost of purchase is 25,000 shillings and cost of sale is 38500 shillings hence my profit is ranges 13,000 to 14,000 shillings which in most cases i use about ksh.3,500 to pay for loans and the rest i use to pay school fees and my upkeep in school.

Project Proposal

I plan to buy and raise crossbreed chicken starting with approximately 50 chicks.

I am a serious farmer who consistently meets demands for white meat. I have grown in knowledge by attending workshops and SME seminars that have shaped my abilities to become resilient and consistent in poultry farming. Below are a few photos of the previous cohort.

I am having a little strain meeting the daily poultry expenses and as such i opted to reduce it a little bit .The investment is fairing on well despite the increase in transport cost that causes increase in daily expense thus making me adjust the repayment schedule.
