My name is Agnes KPODOVIA. I come from Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana but resides in Sunyani, Brong Ahafo Region. I have four sibblings. I completed my Technical education at Sunyani Polytecnic in 1990.
My ability to further my education was truncated due to limited financial resources. I therefore decided to venture into trading at an early age.
It was a necessity to support my other brothers further their education, therefore, I had to go through terrible conditions in life. This made me to learn early; the skills of trading with the aim of assisting the family financially. We have been able to manage by divine providence, though things have been tough.
My line of business is buying and selling smoke fish (e.g. herrings); which I happen to learn from my mother in my early teenage years. These skills have taken me over 25 years in business.
I travel over 325 km every fortnight in search of smoke fish to purchase in the Greater and Central regions of Ghana.
My primary concern is the inability to find the requisite resources for business expansion. It is a profit yielding business.
It has been the supportive wire of the family for three decade and with Zidisha there will be superlative expansion capital to buy more baskets of smoked fish to sell.
My line of Business is retailing smoked fish. Given enough capital, this business is a very profitable one with huge profit returns in a very short term.
Much profit will be earned if I have money to buy more baskets of smoked fish to retail among my established customers which include Boarding Schools, Students, Catering service providers, governmental institutions and individuals from all walks of life.
I wish to apply for a loan of $1,000.0 to help expand my smoke fish retail shop.
A whole basket full of small fish will have 12 to 16 layers. A layer is about $84.00. A basket full of 12 layers of smoked fish will cost around $1,000.00.
The loan will help me increase my profit margin to about 20% to 30%.
This will be a great source of relief for my family. It will also help me employ extra hands which will in the long run help others to fend for themselves.
