About Me

My names are Robert Hope Okwirry and i am an aquaculture farmer in Bondo, Siaya county. I am a husband and father to two children. I reside in Nairobi Kenya but occasionally travel at least every fortnight to Nyanza to check up on my fish project. I am 51 years of age and hence ventured into a stress free project which i must say doesn't have much trouble to handle, actually i have become very passionate about the business. My fish farming business supply me with fresh tilapia which i in turn sell to the local market either raw or deep fried and helps to sustain a good living from it.

My Business

I specialize in aquaculture and cage tilapia fish farming in Lake Victoria. I sell my caged organic tilapia for commercial purposes and looking to expand my business by increasing stock capacity hence buying more fish food wish would help archive high quality fish. I also would like to purchase better cooler boxes and storage box packaging for ease of transportation of product to my clients, all this would greatly improve my innovation and boost my business positively.

Project Proposal

Abitu Fresh Fish is a small and medium size enterprise based in Bondo Lake Victoria. I would like to purchase fish feed for my aquaculture business, i cage fish in Lake Victoria for resale and need to purchase quality fish feed so as to enhance the quality of fish harvested for sale. The fish i keep is organically reared and the quality of fish feed provided to them is key to attain the required quality hence boosts sales. One bag of fish feed now costs Ksh 2800 and with your help i can add on the loan and get at least two bags.

    My project is growing positively into the right direction and more so because of the backing that i get from this project. I am able to manage my business with much ease and ensure that not only the product is secure with enough supply but also my worker gets paid for his effort with ease. Abitu Fresh Fish owes its growth progress and success curtesy of Zidisha platform and for this i am so humbled and thankful.

    It’s been an absolute pleasure working hand in hand with this forum, i am glad to report that my business is improving tremendously well despite the high cost of living this year we have increased our client base due to quality organic fish which we offer. We are in expanding our capacity and this will require more supply of fish feed hence my request for funding.

    My aquaculture farming business is growing in a positive direction. My last funding enabled me buy quality feeds for my tilapia and we noticed a change in taste which has added value of produce. I would like to maintain this standard as it’s put my product stand out from the rest.

    Thank you so much, the loan will help me buy more cold storage space for my product which will go a long way in meeting supply demand, i can also improve on fish feed stock and feed my fish much better.
