I was brought up in a village in Kenya and went to Inyanza Primary School then to Gilwatsi Secondary School, both in the village. I was not exposed enough to know my potential in interior design. When I was in university, I discovered my potential and passion for interior designing. I pursued the passion of interior design through the knowledge I gained from my undergraduate program and graduate program from United States International University (USIU). My experience has changed my view in interior design leading to me having a company in interior designing with four years in business.
Interior design is the art and science of enhancing the interiors, sometimes including the exterior, of a space or building, to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the end user. An interior designer is someone who plans, researches, coordinates, and manages such projects. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, site inspections, programming, research, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.
I would like to expand my business in cloth design. I will use the money to buy material, tailoring tools, and labor which will cost around KSH 40,000. The material will cost around KSH 10,000, two tailoring machine will each cost KSH 8,000 totaling to KSH 16,000. Labor for the two machines will cost KSH 14,000 monthly.
The projected income: each person making two cloths per day at KSH 1,500, multiply by two people for 26 days totaling to KSH 78,000
