my name is Japheth Muema. I am a Kenyan and i come from Kitui district,a remote and semi arid rural area.I'm the firstborn in a family of six.Our parents are peasant farmers and we have always depended on government relief food in our upbringing. After completing my o levels in 2001 I came to the city of Nairobi in search of greener pastures to fed for my younger siblings.I've worked as a casual labourer since then until in 2003 when I ventured into business. my first business was a second hand shoe selling, then later I joined motorcycle taxi business which I do up to date.
I'm involved in a motorcycle taxi business here in Nairobi. Due to the increased traffic in the city many people prefer to use motorcycle taxi when in a hurry.I also deliver parcels for my clients just to save them time as these days people are very busy with work.In a good day I make approximately ksh 2000(20$).out this ksh500(5$) goes to fuel then ksh 500(5$) I use to pay for the motorcycle hiring expense.the remaining amount I use for domestic purposes, like paying for my house rent, shopp
In our country for one to operate a motorcycle taxi business you must have a valid driving license and a valid insurance cover.this helps in compensating third parties in case of an accident or even compensating one self to ensure that all is not lost in case of theft or accident.. This amount of money I will boost with my savings to be able to pay a one year cover which goes at 9500/- ksh ($95).this will ensure that I don't collide with police as I work to bring food on the table for my family.
