I was born in Keumbu and got married to kijauri Nyansiongo where i stay with my husband. I am an 8th born in a family of 13 children. During my childhood our parents never regarded education so much especially for the young women so i got married as a third wife. I was blessed with 5 children however one passed. for a long period have been practising farming till 2000 when i ventured into tailoring an idea i got from one of the women groups that am a member i started small making clothes to resale especially during festive seasons, obtaining tenders ( from couples who want to wed). out of the experience and the expertise i was gaining i started marketing my business to various institutions schools to be more specific i managed to win a tender in Eronge Boarding primary school for making uniforms this was a new beginning for me. My children will want to be teachers, lawyer and engineer. My unique pastime is when i was married, I was only 16 years old i decided to run away to a far place unknown to me due to hardship i gave in and decided to stay with my husband whose eldest son is older than me.
My new business is keeping poultry. Am targeting raring 100 chicks for the start. I have chosen this business due to high demand for eggs and white meat.
The cost per chick is Ksh. 125. so i will spend Ksh. 12500 in purchasing this chicks. Approximately in a month i will spend Ksh. 3000 in feeding them included vaccines. In six months time i will be earning Ksh. 1000 per day from the eggs the kind of breed am targeting lays up to 300 eggs in a year and its also good for meat. Meanwhile i will be repaying my loan from my clothing production business.
If my loan is successfully funded i will purchase clothing to make school uniform for Eronge boarding primary school.
1metre square of the clothing cost Ksh. 600. So with a loan of Ksh. 8914 i will be able to purchase 12metres which will produce depending on size a maximum of 36 boys shorts uniforms for children joining baby class which is my major target. One short cost Ksh. 400. In total if i sell all the clothes i will earn Ksh.14400. i will get a profit of minimum 2000 after paying employees and other minor expenses. This will have moved me a step higher as my working capital will have increased
