This is to inform all of you that I have been faithful in my loan repayment and have completed payment already, however due to some technical challenges from MTN our service provider in Ghana, my account is still not credited, as you can read from the announcement made by Director Julia. I'm suppose to reapply for my next loan, however due to the technical challenges I'm still waiting. I use this loan to buy tools for learning and teaching. I use to support my activities in giving free Tutoring to children who can not get additional lessons outside school due to economic circumstances. My activity is purely a charity, in fact I want to borrow it more than the value I am proposing at this time. But because the zidisha rules should be gradual, I follow. I will use the funds to buy notebooks, pens, pencils and other learning tools. Thank you for helping us.

I basically used my concluded loan in improving the structures where the chicken lives. I bought the sheets that allow light to pass through and also added one more structure. I was able to realize more profits from selling eggs and hatched chicks (two weeks old) which improved my way of living and my family even though a disaster of sickness hit that reduced the number of hens. I was able to recover and increased them to a good number of 20 laying egg hens and 4 cocks. Currently, I have 20 chicks that are 1.5 weeks and can be seen on my profile photo. I intend to use my next loan to add more hens and cocks to reach a target of being able to sell more than 100 chicks in a month. That can really boost my income and enable me to either expand greatly or even venture into new and greater projects. About last holiday, December and new year, I was able to benefit a lot from my project by selling chicken to families in my neighborhood and also could not miss nor spend much at my house. It was really enjoyable holiday.comment image

Hello Joshi. Yes you are right, sunlight makes the plastic becomes brittle so easily torn plus the combination of rain that often goes down. The weather in Indonesia is currently very difficult to predict even this year we have a fairly long rainy season, when the dry season is sometimes still rain. When it rains sometimes accompanied by strong winds that make this plastic cover opened, this can give a considerable loss because the raw bricks that are exposed to rain will crumble when burned so it can not be sold to consumers. The price of a set of plastic covers is about $ 10, this can only cover 1 or 2 rows of bricks that are being dried. Cover and uncover process done every day, because as I mentioned above, the weather in Indonesia is very difficult to predict, the rainy season is very long and the rain can go down suddenly even in the dry season. We can not possibly not open this cover for up to 1 week because this will greatly affect the process of draining raw bricks, in order to burn and produce strong bricks then the raw bricks must be perfectly dry, if it is too wet or even too dry then the bricks will crumble when burned (easily broken). This drying process takes about 3 days when the weather is nice, but it can take a long time when the rainy season so affect the burning schedule and distribution of bricks to consumers. Until now I still think about the kind of cover and how to cover the better bricks. Thank you

Recently we experienced floods in Kenya. Little did I know that that it would affect my horticulture agribusiness. First, heavy winds blew away my two greenhouses then the whole was flooded. All my ripe tomatoes were washed away in one night!!!! My two workers were injured but are now out of danger. I'm still shaken to the core! Am thinking of my next step. I haven't paid my instalments amounting to 14,000sh. I really need thoughts and ideas on how to stand again. Meanwhile, am requesting my lenders to bear with me as I look for ways to restart my venture and repair the huge damage caused by the rains. Thank you for your continued support. Moses Makokha

Hello Joshi. Thank you very much for your suggestion and loan support. I will try to discuss your suggestions with my employees, your idea is very brilliant because this will make the plastic more durable from damage due to friction between the plastic with the brick. But one thing that can not be avoided is the age or endurance of the plastic, because however the longer the plastic will get easier fragile (age factor, often exposed to heat and rain because Indonesia is a tropical country). For now, a set of plastic covers can usually last up to a maximum of 3-4 months before being replaced with new plastic. 1 set of plastic can be used for 2 rows of bricks (as in the picture below). until now I still have not found an alternative cover of bricks other than plastic, which has a longer durability and more practical. I am very interested in discussing with other Zidisha members (from Indonesia or other countries) who have similar business so that they can share knowledge and experience in managing brick business, or maybe you have alternative suggestion of brick cover besides plastic?
