Please don't stress out about it; it's very common for loans to become fully funded on the very last day, sometimes even in the very last hours. Here's some information for you; please read it and please share it with anyone and everyone you know who's a borrower on Zidisha, as it should help to reduce your & their stress levels: http://forum.zidisha.org/threads/loan-funding.3375/#post-20074 Kindest regards, Laurie

I bought second hand electronics and sold at wholesale price. This enable me to repay my loan. They were in demand as many people can't afford new electronics. I choose this kind of business because I had no money and reinvested US$150.00. My typical cost at present is about US$200.00. I get a profit of about 50%. The profit helps me to educate my children, use some of it for our upkeep and also reinvest. in the business so that it can grow.

Hmm, well, the "Like" link isn't working for me here or I'd "Like" this photo... I *do* like this photo! :) Well, Matt, I can tell you that goat meat is delicious... (I no longer eat that or any meat, though... more about that in a moment)... I tried goat meat as a teenager when I was in the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia (in the mid-1970s) with my parents, younger brother, a foster brother, and our cat... (there were no tourists there at that time... no cruise ships... nothing of that sort... not even electricity on most of the islands at the time... and on the only island in the group that did have electricity [Nuku-Hiva], it was from a generator that the mayor turned off at night when he went to sleep... on a starless, moonless night, you literally could not see your hand in front of your face!... anyway, besides the Marquesans, and a few others living there [some French nationals] at the time, and aside from the copra boat that came once a month from Tahiti [of the Society Islands] to pick up copra and drop off some provisions not otherwise available in the Marquesas, only those of us living aboard small, private sailboats & sailing there were present on those islands back then)... but I digress!... back to the goats... some of the men on Fatu-Hiva hunted a mountain goat and made us dinner on the beach one night... today, however, I would *never* eat meat of any kind... since August 2011, I've eaten mostly just whole vegan fare (some of it is not whole; i.e., some of it is processed, such as gluten-free bread, homemade or otherwise, but really I don't eat many processed foods anymore, either)... I've given up dairy (especially dairy!), meat/eggs/fish, added sugars and other unhealthy food additives, and most processed foods, for numerous reasons (only one of which is that eating this way, I am much healthier now than before). That said, there was a time when I used to eat meat, too... so, although I cannot look at the photo of the goat being killed, I won't give anybody a lecture about why it's so much better (for so many reasons) for human beings to eat mostly just whole vegan fare instead. ;) I love the photo of you hugging these goats! :) Kind regards, Laurie

This is a dream come true, when my child will go back to school which she had stopped long ago due to lack of financial support. It was not easy, this is a great relief. Greetings Sefah, this is James again. I am glad that you are thinking of ideas to improve your business and get more customers. Your branding idea is very good. I am guessing your restaurant serves plate lunches (serves a variety of foods on a plate), or is it a sandwich shop that sells just sandwiches. Here are 5 ideas for you from restaurants here in my country, (these 5 ideas may or may not get you more customers), or your restaurant may get more recognition in the community as being a little different from others in you area. PERHAPS: 1- Have a childrens menu different from adults (smaller portions and a little cheaper price). Here, about 8 years or less is childrens menu. 2-Have a senior citizens discount, like 5 or 10 percent. Here, seniors are considered to be 65 years or older. Many are retired and don't have as much money and a small discount saves them a little. 3-Have specials meals (plate lunches) on different days of the week, like a Monday special, or a Tuesday special, etc. Restaurants here put signs in the window advertising the days special so passerbys can see the advertisement. You don't have to have a special every day of the week, just when you want to have it. 4-Have a special plate lunch called "Sefah"s Plate" (it is done here, a plate lunch with a persons name), usually a smaller portion and a cheaper price. Same foods as adults, just smaller portions and cheaper price for people who have less money or a small appetite. You could name it "Sefah's Special". With a name like Sefah you can't go wrong. 5-Am sure you have slow days like a lot of places here, not as much business. Tuesdays are a slow day here, so restaurants offer various deals and savings to bring in more customers on those days. Some places let 1 or 2 kids eat free with an adult purchased meal. Very young kids, like 2 or 3 years old. Be carefull with this or you could end up losing money. Other places charge kids per their age, up to 12 years old or so (price goes up as age goes up). I think your money is called Cedi, so as an example lets say 1 cedi for each year of age. Do some serious calculating first, you don't want to lose money. Also I have seen places offer a second meal at half price with the purchase of a meal at full price. Again, be careful and do your calculations if you are interested in any of these number 5 ideas. I hope I have helped you a little. I wish you the best . Your payment record is excellent and it has been a priviledge working with you. I will be praying for you and family and business from now on. We will meet someday when the Lord calls us home. Greet your family, keep up the good work serving God, and He will guide your steps. It's been a pleasure knowing you Sefah, a real pleasure. God bless you always. James
