My name is Edith Martey. I am 27 years old.

I am a Ghanaian from Ada in the greater Accra Region. I am now living at zenu also in Gr Accra region of Ghana.

I attended Ada presby school from primary 1 to jhs 2. I was not able to complete my basic school because , i had no one to help me to pay for my tuition fees.I even tried to further the school on my own but due to ill health i have not been able to do that.

I have suffered a lot in life until 18 years when i move to zenu to meet my grandmother to help sell my kenkey. even though i was still not happy, i considered it as better than before. So soon the price of corn short up and we have to stop that business .As life became bad again, my grandmother and i went to the operation of drinks selling.

For some few years now i sell and keep this shop for our daily up keeping.

I am hard working and very serious with my business.I have no where to go on each day unless in my shop.i love my business so much.i sell through out the whole week and only go to church on sundays.

I like watching movies whiles i sell .Its my prayer that this business will grow the best height.

At my free time i like to sleep well.

My is popularly called kotoro shop.It is located some few meters away from the zenu main staion. I sell all forms of drinks to my customers.

I am able to make queit some amount of money on occational days r on public holidays. My income ranges between 10 to 100 cedis in a day. On bad days i sell nothing at all.

My opens from morning 7am and closes at 10pm. I do get tired a lot because of the long hours of selling in the day. I do keep my business place clean and tidy. Even though i am alone in the shop, I try to make the place nice and lovely.

I play music in the evening s in other to attract a lot of customers.Unfortunately when the lights are out I Ioose a lot because i am unable to freez some of my drinks and also play music.

I am now playing to God to help me to expand and grow.

Thanks to the my friend and brother who invited me to join Zidisha. in fact this has come at the right time when i am praying to God to to enable me grow my business. Dumsor(lights out) has be come a big challenge now in ghana, especially, to small businesses and industries. When the lights out ,i loose a lot because i am not able to freeze my drinks and also play music.

I am going to use the loan money that will be given to me to buy a new generator so that i will be able to power my fridges even when the lights are out. I know when i do this i shall be able to increase my sales in a day. i shall even sell more because a lot will still visit my shop when even the lights are out.

I will then use the remaining money to buy other stock for my business. exampls ,soft drinks and other type of wine for my shop.

I promise to pay back the loan as scheduled and agreed upon by your organisation and i.

THANK YOU ZIDISHA.
