My name is Ousmane Fall, and I live in Dakar. I went to school until just after the bac and I did 2 years of studies in the physical sciences. I live in a big family with my brothers and sisters and both my parents. I want to go into business to grow my resources before getting into bigger businesses. With the earnings from my trade I could afford a studio, support the needs of my wife and two children and pay their school fees.
My business provides foods and fishery products from the Casamance region in the south of my country, about 450 km from Dakar. These products range from palm oil, lemon juice, smoked fish and dried seafood such as shrimp. I also carry monkey bread and peanut butter, etc. All these products are in high demand in Dakar and are sold at low prices in Ziguinchor. One may resell them for three times the purchase price. These foods are not difficult to store or to transport, and one can do good business in record time. With a starting investment of 250,000 francs for example, in six months and good management one can travel and bring back products with a value of 1 million francs.
The loan is used to finance a very profitable business, namely buying palm oil, seafood products, etc. in Casamance in southern Senegal and reselling these products in the Senegalese capital. Products such as smoked fish, seafood, palm oil, lemon juice and cashews are produced in quantity in this region and therefore their purchase price is lower than in Dakar.
