My name is Alexis Tarnagada Kirga and I hold a Masters in Environmental Studies. I am the third in a family of six children and we live in Ouagadougou, but part of my family lives in Cote d'Ivoire because many of us were born in that country. I started a business to be financially independent because I was unemployed. I buy ready-to-wear clothes that I resell, and for the moment I am a beginner in this business. In the long term I intend to open a big shop of ready-to-wear clothes. My business allows me to make 50% profit that I invested in the purchase of other outfits.
I sell ready-to-wear clothes: jeans, pants, t-shirts, skirts, and women's pants among others. Nowadays young people want to follow fashion, and since youth represent more than 60% of the population of my country they are a potential market. Customers prefer my services due to the welcome the customer receives, the product quality, and the competitive prices that I charge. Trade is profitable because I can make a profit of at least 50%, which allows me to face the charges. The risks that I can confront in this business are unsold stock, but at my level I take care to make good choices and I often look for others' opinions on my choices. The monthly cost is variable as are the revenues per season. When I buy 75,000 CFA francs' worth of products, at the end of the month I often find myself with 40,000 to 60,000 CFA francs' profit.
With the loan that will give me Zidisha, I will be traveling to a nearby town (Pouytenga) to pay for clothes at a lower than I was getting from dealers price. My trip cost me only 4,000 FCFA return and the rest of the money will be used to pay me the clothes I resell my friends on campus and in my shop. My ambition is e travel farther to bring the varied and cheaper goods. I count my business develop and become a true business man. Thank you in advance Zidisha!
