Hello Zidisha team, my name is Barbra Himoonga from Linda compound in Petauke Eastern Provinvce of Zambia. I grew as an orphan and my parents died when I was two years old. I was raised by grandmother who was just a subsistence farmer. My educational background is a great miracle for me because I had no one to take me to school , I really struggled to start due to lack of funds, my grandmother was unable to pay for my schools. Hence I started selling vegetables and making flitters to raise some funds to pay for my school. While at school I was very bright girl in class and I stood out among my friends. Currently I'm doing grade 12 , my final year in secondary school preparing for the final examination. I need funds to pay for school fees, books and boarding house. I have the passion for entrepreneurship because through entrepreneurs, I managed to get enrolled in school hence I focus on hard working after writing my final examination and I want to continue pursuing my dreams and become somebody one day in future. I wish to become a female civil engineering in our family and emulate the girl child in our community.
I sell vegetables and I make flitters, I have a small booth where I sale a variety of vegetables and flitters. I target neighboring customers who buy vegetables on a daily basis and flitters which I sale to sell in the school tack shop. I choose to sale a variety vegetables because I generate revenue very day and demand is very high. Some of the funds I generate I save some , pay school fees, invest the rest in the business. Looking at the current situation, I will be sitting for my final examination and I'm asking for school fees , buy books and the board house for me to get ready for the examination and pass with flying colors and qualify to the university of Zambia.
With the funds I would to buy the a bale of second hand clothing in my shop and the beddings due to increasing demand at my shop. These second hand clothing sale very and the begging hence I will be able to make and generate more revenue.
