I am a 24 year old lady,I was born in Bondo Siaya County.My education from primary to secondary was in my home district ,Bondo before leaving for Nairobi where I trained as a teacher for two years .I had interest in children since my childhood.I started teaching officially in September 2013 after completing my college.My childhood life had challenges ,I had to stay home for one year during my secondary education due to lack of school fee but I did not give up,giving up is last thing I can do in life.Things worked the following year and I was able to rejoin school.My love for children gave birth to my current project,I am giving extra lessons(tuition) to the weak children to help improve their performance.I like reading books and watching TV.
I am a teacher ,I teach children between ages 3-15 years.My business is a tuition centre where I provide extra lessons to children who are weak in various subjects namely Social Studies,Science,Kiswahili,Mathematics and English.I use exercise and textbooks,revision books,test papers,maps of various geographical areas,charts,pens.I also need desks,chalk and paints for the classroom.most of the textbooks cost $ 4.Books and other materials are bought once and I spent close to $ 120 to start the centre.I also have one teacher who help me teach the children,I pay him 20 % of the monthly income.Currently there 30 children whom we are serving each of the pay Kshs.40 per evening (4pm- 6:30 pm) which is around a half a dollar per day .They pay Kshs. 50 on Saturdays making my monthly income to be around $ 338 per month.My help is paid $ 67 which is around 20 % of the income,I also pay for running expenditures leaving me with around $ 150 per month ,I use my profit to improve the place and my personal expenses as well as saving.
I will continue to uplift the lives of the less fortunate in the community, grow my business and help fund other entrepreneurs with the benefits gained through this zidisha fund,I will as well continue to encourage other business partners in the field
