My name is Iortyer Meshach and I’m 28 years old from Benue State, Nigeria. I grew up in Jos Plateau State where I completely my primary and secondary school before earning a degree in Microbiology in Makurdi, Benue State. Nigeria.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic forced me to close my restaurant due to lockdowns and decline in sales. This experience made be realize that offering deliveries to customers would’ve helped sustain the business during such challenging times. I turned this lesson into an opportunity and started DropDash- a food delivery service in Makurdi that enables restaurants to deliver to their customers and also people can enjoy favorite dishes delivered to them from the comfort of their homes.
Makurdi is known for it’s rich culture and love for traditional delicacies. Cooking has always been a passion of mine and this business allows me to stay connected to what I love while serving my community.
With the support from Zidisha, I hope to expand our delivery network with bicycles and continue to promote the vibrant culinary heritage of Makurdi.
We currently have just 2 motorcycles for deliveries as seen on my profile picture and we intend to add bicycles to meet demand. The funds raised will enable me to buy bicycles to make deliveries affordable and efficient for the people in my community. By doing this, it will also enable me provide jobs for the youths in my community who will earn a living from making this deliveries. The profits of the business will further be reinvested to expand our delivery coverage to serve more people and create more jobs.
Your support isn’t just about helping a business find its feet, but you’re also impacting the lives of people through this single support who can now earn a living and support their families.
Thank you so much for support!
I will use the funds to purchase bicycles for my food delivery business. The bicycle approach in my delivery business is relatively cost effective in keeping the business profitable while minimizing costs (majorly maintenance and fueling costs)
With the delivery bicycles and carriers in place, it will hell us scale the business and help deliver for our delivery partners efficiently.
