.A first born in six siblings .in my early life I used to help with farming whereby we grew maize and vegetables for subsistence and commercial purposes.during holidays, my mother used to send me to the market to sell the surplus produce. The proceed was used to pay our school fees and buy other things that were not produced in in the farm.I also used to keep some indigenous chicken a practice i have kept to date.
I schooled i a local primary school where i used to be in top five in my class up to class eight. After class eight I joined a day secondary school where I used to top my class up form four.I was good in athletics,a school prefect.
After school did not continue to college or university for my father had passed away and mum was strugling to raise my other five siblings.I had to start looking for jobs that were not readily available. When lucky I got jobs as a labourer at construction sites like for three days a week which was good but it was not enough to keep me going. One day a met a mentor of my fathers age that taught me ropes of using a sewing machine to make mats from recycled pp bags, that he sourced from Gikomba market. I worked with him for a week and i was good to go.
Earlier on I had acquired a second had sewing machine and with the small savings that i had I started making the mats from home and selling them at various markets around my residence. The mats have various uses such drying grains, house decoration, sorting coffee and tea, feed mixing and tenting.since they are water proof and long lasting thy are very popular. We have since diversified to selling of used bill boards as carpets and tent making and soon planning to open up shops to serve our clients better.with the proceeds I re invest in the business and other to school my younger siblings
I will buy more sacks from a factory at a cheaper price maximaxing on margins and buy billboards in wholesale .The sacks from the market goes at 0.15 $ while from the factory it goes for0.09$.This will lower the the total cost of production thus lowering the price of the completed mat by40%making it affordable to many peopl
