Hello Zidisha family! My name is Grace Mwende Mutuku and I'm a Kenyan hailing from the Kamba community, which is the eastern part of Kenya. I grew up in a very humble home in the village and spent my days between attending school and herding my family's cattle. I had a hard time growing up but I overcame my troubles by seeking employment at a fruit parlor and I ended up working extra hours after school. My home land is known for producing the best mangoes and our culture is very friendly and interesting. I have one daughter who wants to be a doctor when she grows up. My hobby is traveling and I enjoy spending time with my daughter.

I have a fruit parlor myself where I reside in Isinya, Kajiado county. My products are especially essential for health purposes. For example, I sell beetroot to people that need blood boost and papaya to those with heart problems. I chose this business because I grew up doing it and my experience has made me good in the business. My typical costs per week are ten thousand Kenya shillings and I make forty thousand Kenya shillings roughly in a week. I use the profits to provide for my daughter as I am a single mother, providing basic necessities and paying school fees. I also reinvest in my business, buying stock and expanding my business.

I plan to buy more stock and add a sitting area. This will help me to generate more sales and extend the reach of my supply as well as give my customers who want to rest while consuming the goods to be able to do so comfortably
