My name is Viviane L. Tanni and I live in the upper lakes region, the capital of which is Bobo Dioulasso, the economic center of Burkina Faso located 360 km from Ouagadougou. I live in central Ougadougou and I am a practicing Catholic. I am currently single and live with my sister and cousin, for whom I am responsible. This is why I have started a business -- to make enough money for myself and also for my parents, my sister, and my cousin. Before starting my own business I worked in public administration but the salary was too low to be able to cover all my bills. It was then I had the idea of starting out on my own. I am hoping to be able to afford to pay for my sister's and my cousin's education as well as ensure a decent living for us all. I would also be able to pay my regular rent, water, and electricity bills.

I started a small business and I make juices such as bissap, ginger, monkey bread, pearl millet, pineapple, and liana juices. I also make ice-cream and fresh bags of water. Those juices are quite in high demand because of their quality and nutritional value..It was in fact revealed that that they have a high amount of various vitamins. Also, I take financial hardships of households into consideration by proposing unbeatable prices.

This is to explain that my business is profitable. I was able to secure a good clientele. However, there are risks that could be blackouts that can have bad consequences on the quality of juices and can break down the freezers I use to store them, and any other things that can have a negative impact on my business.

To make those juices, I pay 4 bags of sugar monthly for CFAF 25,000 each for a total of CFAF 100,000. I pay 10,000 for a bag of bissap, CFAF 20,000 for a bag of ginger, all other ingredients for CFAF 40,000 and packaging for CFAF 20,000, for a total amount of CFAF 200,000.

I sell those juices for CFAF 650,000 monthly, which gives me an average net profit of CFAF 200,000 after I pay all my fixed charges (salary, electricity and water).

Hello Zidisha, this loan will help me grow my business. It's almost time for the school year to begin and that's when the demand is at its highest. I'll also be able to buy more sugar and other ingredients I use for my various juices.
