My name is Abed Ayima and I’m from Nigeria, born and raised in Plateau. I’m currently in my 3rd year in college studying Sociology. Life as a student has not always been easy, but I believe in hard work and determination.

To support myself through school, I started a poultry business where I rear broiler chickens. The business has helped me pay my school fees, and take care of my personal needs. I am focused, honest and committed to building a better future for myself.

I rear and sell broiler chickens for meat. I started the business on a small scale with just 20 birds, gradually reinvesting my profits. I sell the chickens to individuals, restaurants and market vendors. The money I make from the business helps me take care of my education and daily expenses. I manage the farm myself and also use the opportunity to learn about agribusiness while in school.

My goal is to expand the business by buying 200 day old chicks and purchase the required feeds to raise them to 6-8weeks so I can meet the growing demand and be financially stable.

With this loan, I also intend to employ one or two people to assist me in managing the farm.

With the funds, I plan to purchase 200 day old chicks and the necessary feeds to increase my poultry farming capacity. This support will help me grow my small farm into a more sustainable business. The income generated will support my education by helping me cover school fees and materials while also enabling me to provide for my family’s daily needs.

By improving my poultry’s production, I will contribute to food availability in my community and create potential opportunities for others through job creation.
