My name is Thomas Musonda a resident of Masaiti copper belt Zambia i am the number 5 of my parent's children. I am married with 4 children and 3 grandsons.
During my childhood i was grown up with my parents who were both farmers and now they are both late. With my education it was a challenge because the Schools were very far from my home and didn't complete the secondary education so i decided to start farming.
I believed that its not only education that can make me rich but also through working hard as a farmer i have achieved an important goals such as getting married and took my children to School in town from the village.
I started farming business when i was 24 years old at my parents farm after doing doing 3 years of growing maize and vegetables and sell them i raised the money u used buy my own farm land where now i farm maize, vegetables and rearing village Chickens.
The very unique culture of our land is farming and i love it because i know that everyone depends on a farmer.
My 2 children the are already doing their career jobs one is a machenica and the otherone is an electrician and the remaining 2 i want one to be an accountant and another one and teacher and on top of thay i want them to be farmer's so that tbey will be making extra income.
My hobby is, i love farming and giving the food to the Chickens.
The money i want is for buying Ducks because they are also on demand the customers are asking me about them whenever i take the village Chickens for selling . For now i just sell village Chickens, maize and vegetables.
I came up with the business of rearing village Chickens when i went to Congo and see how people who sell village Chickens make money. Theyare on demand and there's a profit because each chicken goes at k 200 and after 2 months i take 200 to 250 chicken so i need to grow this including Ducks business.
The profit i buy feed and feed my family
I do village Chickens rearing so i need money to buy Ducks and building the hatch for keeping them. And when they graw i will be taking them together with the Chickens to Kasumba lesa for selling and make profit
