About Me

My name is Mrs. Mary Teresah Mzae. I am married to Mr. Elijah Mzae Mwaita and we

are blessed with two daughters and two grand-daughters. We reside in Wundanyi Town

in the coastal part of Kenya. After working as an Executive Assistant in Uap Insurance

Co. Ltd, for 15 years, I took early retirement to join my husband in Ministry at

Wundanyi as a Pastor. I have served together with my husband for over 10 years as a

trainee pastor and leader of the women.

I felt the need to join a college where I would be trained in ministry work so that I can do

it professionally. By God’s grace I was admitted for a diploma course in Christian

Ministry at Scott Christian University based in Machakos which I completed in

November, 2016.

I am now pursuing a degree course in the same which is costing 4,500 dollars. In my

pursuit of finding how I can raise this money, My sister Ruth Musela introduced

me to Zidisha and after I heard everything about this group, I felt you are the right

people to assist me with a loan to facilitate my studies.

Being a pastor’s wife, I am a leader of over 150 women with different ages, status and

careers. The course I am doing includes Community Development and Child Care. In

order to impact these women, I need to be fully equipped professionally.

I have fixed the roof which was damaged when trees fell on it as well as the gutters for collecting rain and the piping. Now I need to start making blocks for the construction of rental houses to supplement my income and also offer affordable residential housing for my community and also increase water catchment. I have collected enough rain water for the brick making so I would like to begin as soon as possible.

Bricks cost 10shs each which is $0.1

I need 40,000 bricks to complete the project but with these funds I will be able to make 10,000 bricks which will build 1 housing unit and cost $1000. The additional $90 will cater for transportation costs and other incidentals.
