My name is Japheth Asewe Makemo of ld no 9123737 born in 1968 a second born in a family of 10 siblings . I was born in rural area of Rusinga Island, Rusinga east location , waware north sub location , kolo village ,Homa bay County, kenye. . Iwas born and raised up in the island of Rusinga in Lake Victoria, Kenya. I grew up in a Christian family background and went through my formal education successfully as my parents were responsible and worked hard to educate their children.After I completed myhigh school, I joined a technical school where I trained as a welder and then went to Nairobi to look for a job where a got a job with kalu works Ltd as a welder. III decided to move to Mbita town near my home to start up a business where I started a metal work workshop. I successfully completed my 2 years training and started a workshop in the island of Rusinga where I do make steel windows, doors ,steel gate and all short of metal work and sell to the individual And institutions eg schools in and our side Mbita region .I am married and we have 5 children who are all going to school. My 1st born is in form 4
and the last born has joined pre-school this year. In my free time, I do participate in environmental conservation in my village
I run a small metal work. Workshop business. at mbita town just about 200 m from my home where I stay at Rusinga junction near wasaria sda church .The business house name is Lagos house plot no. 1383.The products that i sell include metal window ,steel doors etc that I make by my self. I do train young people in my workshop too.I have also engaged the services of experienced welders from the community to make special high quality steel work. I fund my business from my own personal savings but we have challenges meetings customers orders as we don't have enough materials to make products.We have many orders from within and out side Mbita area ...My business is doing well and I have focussed on expansion to enable me meet the overgrowing demand for my products. I am seeking loans from ZIDISHA to enable me expand the business.
