Iam an only child in the family.My mother who bore me left me when i was barely eight months to unknown destination to this day.I was raised by grandmother who is now my mother Tablulei.Life was challenging and it become so difficult for me till i dropped out of school after class eight.I had performed well to continue with secondary schooling by my granny had no means of income.I had to do casual jobs over weekends and holidays to buy school uniform shoes and books.I stayed at home for one year herding cattle for my significant others till a friend requested me to go and be her attendant at her salon in Litein town.Its here that i got to learn about weaving and braiding.I mostly do weaving and braiding its my special skill.About one year ago after putting aside some capital for two years i opened my own salon with a few basic items.Iam still working hard and looking forward to a better future.Iam still single and live with my elderly grandmother who raised me.
I have a salon in Litein town.I do braiding,weaving and blow drying.Women are my customers and they like to make their hair look good.It was easier to learn and i enjoy doing it.I had no funds to go to a hair dressing college so when i got an opportunity through a friend i accept very fast.My typical costs is in rent,electricity,water,shampoos,hair food,hair relaxers,treatments ,weaves,braids,among many.Typical cost in a week is KES 6000/=.My income in a week is KES 10,000/=.Iam paying for a medical insurance cover for my grandmother who is sickly.I also take care of the basic needs for her and myself.I plan to buy other manicure and pedicure tools in the near future.
I want to purchase and install one salon sink for washing my customers hair.Its will cost$ 23 inclusive of labor cost.It will be quicker and more professional rather than using a basin.I will get more women to come and make their hair in my salon.
