Childhood was difficulty. When i was only three years my mother left me.Her elder sister took me in and brought me up. I was told she went to look for work in Mombasa. She got into drugs there in mombasa and passed away due to illness.I never saw her until during her burial. For 15 years i never met her nor heard from her.My aunt raised me.She took me to yakach primary school .She was a vegetable and cereals seller.Being the eldest the burden of house work and taking care of my cousins fell on my shoulders.I performed poorly in school because most of the time i was sent home for fees.My aunt always hesitated to raise fees for me.She paid for her children and left me.I thus dropped out in class eight and became a house girl for 8 years. My employer was really impressed with me for sticking with her and raising her kids till they were quite old enough. She took me for a salon training and gave me some grant to start my salon.I now do salon business for one year and a half now.Iam happy with what iam doing and have big plans for future.I have a child who is eight months now.

I have a small salon which i operate at Majengo Kisumu town.I do braiding and weaving mostly.I like this business because women are the customers and do their hair every now and then. Its something that i felt in my heart that this is what i want to do.My typical costs are KES 8,000/= and my weekly profits are KES 6,000/=.Iam using profits to take of my child including medical cover.I put back into business some money.I buy also home appliances when necessary.

I will buy several types of weaves and hair braids in whole sale price about 10 pieces which will cost $30.When you buy at whole sale and sell at retail you make money from sale of braids and weaves and also change customers a fee for fixing the weave or the braid. You make double profit.I expect to raise a profit to 15%.
