I am a widow with two sons . I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and Home Economics in 1996.

I got employed as a secondary school teacher for 10 years then joined the ministry of agriculture as an agricultural extension officer. To date I work in the department of agriculture in Kilifi County Government

I keep kienyeji chicken, a practice I started way back in 2016 with few local birds. I started with 20 indigenous birds. Currently, I keep the local and improved birds for meat and eggs at Matsangoni farm

In addition, I have been operating a livestock feeds shop for a period of 1 and half years. When I started raising chicken as a business I had difficult in accessing good quality feeds near where I keep the birds. This made me see an opportunity in buying and selling chicken feeds

My business is at Matsangoni, Kilifi. I raise chicken and in addition I buy and sale chicken feeds .Broilers, Layers and Kuku kienyeji feeds

Currently , I buy feeds in bulk maximum of 25 bags in 2 to 3weeks. Initially, I used to buy smaller quantities which was expensive per bag.

The more bags purchased the more the discount from the manufacturers.

The stock bought is from 2 suppliers namely; Mombasa maize Miller's and Fugo company

I have employed a youth shop attendant

Project aiming at raising quality chicks for quality, healthy and fully vaccinated chicken. This will ensure the community raises quality chicks for quality meat Chicken rearing will be made easy for farmers within the community
