I was born in a less privileged family with hardships in terms of fiduciary medium. Growing up, my parents separated, leaving us (8 children) with our mum as the soul bred winner of the large family. Being the second born, my elder brother and I had to join mum in her daily hustles, tilling people's farmlands in order to fulfil basic needs, including gaining basic education at primary level.
After doing my final exams at, I qualified for secondary education. I met a well wisher who paid my fees at throughout high school, where I also passed with flying colours, a qualification leading to tertiary education. I joined Maasai Mara University in Narok Kenya, in 2022 to pursue Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Public Administration.
At my third year, I fell short of finances to continue my education and all efforts to get any assistance failed to bear fruits. So I found myself in the harsh streets of Nairobi, even though I'm still highly thirsty for education.
I hustled from hand to mouth, until I was able to purchase just one knapsack sprayer and a vacuum cleaner machine, giving me a medium for daily bread. Fast forward, I've developed trust and necessary skills in cleaning business, which I'd like to take to another level, with right funding at hand.
I'd like to expand this business to include laundry services, sneaker cleaning and drying among others, using modern technology and marketing strategy; a venture that will solve unemployment, drug abuse and crime cases among the robust young urban population in Nairobi, where I live.
During my free time, I like socialising and exploring new opportunities for entrepreneurial ventures, which has really exposed me to the real world despite financial hurdles.
My business deals with cleaning and fumigation services; where I provide services like sofa, mattress, carpet cleaning, home, office and post construction cleaning services. With the required funding, I'd like to expand the scope of my business to include carwash, laundry and sneaker cleaning and drying services.
These services are in high demand, owing to the large urban working population in need of these services.
I chose this kind of business because it is one sure way to gain quick income. At the same time, it doesn't have high demands for academic qualifications, favouring the larger population of young people without high academic qualifications for employment.
In order to start this venture on a serious basis, I need at least Ksh 1,500,000 for the purchase of basic equipment and location setup plus digital marketing efforts.
The profits gained from this venture will be regenerated back, ensuring the expansion of the business while creating more job opportunities for the urban youth. Furthermore, a part of the profit will help me go back to school and accomplish my campus education, which was abruptly cut short because of financial constraints.
Having ventured into cleaning and fumigation services, the funds will help me purchase cleaning chemicals for detergent making as well as purchasing some pesticides for the task. This will go a long way in my service delivery boost.
