My full names are David Kabanda. I was born on 13th January 1992 in Lusaka the capital city of our Christian country nation Zambia. I was just 8 years old when I lost my parents, who use to support me in everything especially paying for my school requirements and provide my needs also wants.
I was raised by my aunty the sister to my late Dad. Life changed and became so difficult compared to the one I was living when my parents were alive. I could wake up early in the morning everyday to fetch water and wash my uncles car before I could go to school, therefore due to lack of not having enough time to rest and study, I failed my grade 9 exams.
After that I spent 6 close to 7 years out of school, selling scones, fritters, snacks and soft drinks in order to survive and have a place at my auntie's house, because I was told if I am not selling for them I will be chased out of the house and go to the streets. How I became independent and went back to school is history and a miracle. Glory be to God and thanks to the Roman Catholic Church for playing a big part and role in my life.
I am into business, which I run my own grocery. How I started this business was very simple though difficult, with just a low startup that costed a high demand for snacks because the area I am found is very busy.
I like this kind of business reason being is that, it is easier to deal with a number of independent customers. The other reason is that, this business brings the opportunity of big profit because groceries are daily need everyone needs to fulfill.
I have also discovered that, managing this type of business has free me from waiting or looking for a job in order to be payed by someone. This is why I had to think beyond a paycheck and buld something of my own. And when I make capital I add more local retail foods to my store.
I want to help my brother who has not yet finished all his school fees and requirements for a second term at mulungushi university. I want to use these funds to pay so that he can register for classes, take incoming exam and get results. The school principal stated that, any student who has not paid by the end of this month will have to obtain academic clearance. Please help!
