Hi Lenders! I stay next to Sang'alo Institute of Science and Technology in Bungoma County, Kenya where student mostly stay in rental houses belonging to members of the community neighboring the college. They only go for lectures then collect learning material from their lecturers and/or library both in soft and hard copy. Since the student population is too large for the available limited resources, most of them have to daily scan, print and photocopy learning materials. Some lecturers even refer their students to online material yet it is difficult to access the internet so as to get online services.
Offline computer services like typing of attachment reports, project proposals, business plans and research projects are in high demand in the region but lack of capital to finance purchase of computers and other equipment for providing both offline and online computer services, scanning, printing and photocopying has hindered the business.
It is for this reasons that I started a cyber cafe so as to provide both offline and online computer services to students and community members at an affordable fee. The population of my customers is however too large for my available equipment hence not able to fully provide the required services.
I request for a $3659 loan to purchase the following cyber cafe equipment: 5 desktops at $150 each to be used for large scale typing tasks and reading of materials in soft copy form. 5 laptops at $250 each for providing highly demanded online services to students and the entire community like KRA online PIN applications, online registration for student's HELB loans on the government website, accessing other online government services and downloading online learning materials.
In addition, I will purchase Two 3 in 1 Printers for large scale scanning, printing and photocopying tasks valued at $350 each and 1 Multi-function Photo Printer valued at $400 to be used for printing highly needed passport size photos and normal/ordinary photos for students and community members.
Finally, A router valued at $150 will be used to get internet for the computers to access online services. A quality digital camera valued at $100 will also be needed for taking photos/Passport size photos for students and community members then print them. Other requirements for this business include: 3 rims of photocopying papers @ $4 each, 2 rims of photo Papers @ $6 each, office stationery worth $17, a binding machine valued at $58, a lamination machine valued at $60 and a paper cutter of $30. A Power Back-Up UPS valued at $70 for protecting computers and 2 Surge protector extensions valued at $25 each to protect all other electronic appliances in my business from electric power fluctuations that frequently damage electronic appliances in our region.
Thanks.
My business involves providing online computer services, typing, scanning, photocopying and printing tasks at a fee. The students and the community members who are in desperate need of both offline and online computer services are my major source of income. When fully financed, my business is capable of serving the highly needed offline and online computer services to students and the community at large hence reduce their expenses of travelling 7 km to access them in Bungoma town daily. This will increase my profit margins and enable me to support my family and the needy members of my poor community. I'll also be in position to further my education from where I stopped due to lack of college fees.
In the long run, I plan to use the income generated from my business to start an ICT center at a cost of $3659 and train interested students/community members to do online jobs both on part-time and full time basis so as to reduce to high level of poverty/unemployment that is currently affecting our community's progress.
Kindly Lend me so that I can be in a position to brighten my future using this business and be in position to help the needy members of my poor community.
Regards.
