I am a single child of my mother the late Catherine Kwiba, she was married to my father,a Turkana and he died after raiders raided our home and stole cattle and shot him as he tried to defend us.
After papa died me and my mother had to move out of our home as she was supposed to be inherited by my dads brother, which she refused,so we lost the right to papas land.Me and my mother raised money for food and drink by herding peoples cattle and i even had to watch over herds carrying a loaded gun because of raids by neighboring tribesmen.
I managed to finish only primary school and my mother died a year after that and left me herding cattle.I worked in bars and lodgings until one day i helped install lights in a certain club and got interested in the details of the installation. The technician trained me and ended up sending me to different people whos orders we received. Now i am proficient in installing revolving lights and the like and i get paid to do the interior design too, which i am now studying as a diploma course.
I fit club lights and do interior design for the same and usually buy material from the capital city Nairobi or sometimes i manage to send someone who is flying to and from the UK with small but very valuable laser lights.I get paid from around 20$ to 50$ per job and this has enabled me to be independent.
I will buy at least 5 disco balls at 10$ each and resell them at 12$ each, making 10$ in profit from their sales.I will also be able to buy laser lights with the profits and make at least 2$ on each laser light. This money will enable me to pay for my college fees as i will save part of it and use the rest for business.
