My childhood introduction

My name is Felix Mutua from Makueni county.I was born in the year 1998 in the village called Macha at Tumaini sub location.I am coming from a family of three children,me as the second born.I lost my parents when I was six years old when I was in standard one.

My Education

I started my school of pp1 from Taru nursery school in the year 2001 when I was three and have years,and completed my pp2 in the year 2003.After Taru nursery school I joined Ngomeni Primary School standard one, and that is when I lost my parents from a road accidents but I was brought up by my grandmother till I completed standard eight.

When I was in standard eight I passed on my exams with flying colours, and I was able to get sponsored by my government for my secondary education where I joined Mbooni Boys National school for four years.And later Joined Egerton University with the government sponsorship also for four years where I studied bachelor in agricultural engineering.

My family

I am an orphan and I am coming from a family of three children.me as the second born.we are two boys and a girl.Our first born is a girl called Caroline Wambua whom she is currently searching for a job.Our lastborn is called Peter Mutua and she joined University of Nairobi last year.My parents were farmers.When we were young we were staying with our grandmother but now my siblings and that my grandmother are staying in my own house because my grandmother is now old and cannot stay herself.

Hardship and Challenges

When we were young it was a very hard time because we had no parents and our grandmother was old and she was also single mother.when we were in primary school,it was even hard to pay our school fees because she had no income,so we were even staying at home for some days to get fees.

We came across some challenges when we were in primary but because we struggling hard,we were able to make it well our exams and get sponsored by the government where our grandmother got another hand supported by the government.

My sister and I did well until we completed university and come out with flying colours.Only our lastborn is still undergoing her education.

Starting of business

After completing my University in the year 2021, I was able to secure a job in the county as internship for one year.I was an office assistant and field operation.My salary was half of those who are permanent confirmed.During that time I started saving some small amount of money because I was still assisting my younger brother to pay school fees.

In the year 2022, after my internship has been terminated I came home,we sat down with my grandmother,elder sister and I,and we decided what we 'll do for us to succeed in life.

My grandmother show me a piece of land where I will dig and plants some vegetables, because I had some amount of money I had I used them as a capital.

My work experience

In 2019 to 2020 I have worked for my industrial in Tetimony private Sector for agriculture.And in 2021 after completing my university I joined ministry of agriculture in Makueni county as internship for one year where I was an office assistant and field operator.

My residential and culture

I currently live in Macha town where it near to my land.I live with my siblings and grandmother.I am married and blessed with one child.My house is found along Keni street near Macha market opposite Dispensary.My family, community and I speak kamba language.My clan is korokoro.

My children

I have one child who is still young.He is a boy of one year old.He is Called Bethwel Tonyi.I want him to be a doctor when he grows up.

My favourite and hobby

I like playing football, watching movies, visiting prisoners and sicks, singing praises and worships and attending choir musics.

My business title

Because I currently started my business,my community have given me a name as FELO farmer.

Good and service

I do planting of vegetables and cereals foods.I do plants cabbages, spinach,sukuma wiki,maize,beans,cassava, sweet potatoes and potatoes.I also do services like planting, digging and clearing the lands

My business

I choose this business because it my professional favourite where I have the skills and knowledge.This my business appeals to me because I see I am getting benefits, therefore I am able to feed my family and pay school fees for my younger brother.

Capital

I acquired my capital from collecting my savings from my previous job.I did a job for one year,and I was able to save 25000kes.I used 15000kes to start my farming and used the remaining to built my house.

Profits

I am managing my business keenly to assist me in different ways like improving my daily standards of living, feeding my family,expand my piece of land, assist the needy,pay school fees for my brother and my children.

I intend to use the loan to improves my farming activities as follows;

1.Purchase farm inputs for 25000kes like seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.

2.Buy farm tools and equipments for 15000kes like wheelbarrow, pipes, watering can,hoes and sprayer.

3.Buy animal feeds and veterinary care for 15000kes.

4.8000kes for irrigation and water supply.

5.10000kes for labor for land preparation and planting

6.7000kes for transportation of produce to the market.
