I own a motor boat which i use to transport people across lake victoria to the other side.I also transport luggage.Its a short cut and a cheap means of transport for those living on the island across.I was introduced to boating and transport by my father when i was 10 years old.I liked it very much.Until his demise when i was about 20 years old. i spent my free time at the lake dreaming about when and how i will own my boat one day.Typical costs are mainly in fuel and maintenance .I also pay for the motor boat on instalments every month.Weekly typical costs are KES 2000/=.My typical weekly profits are KES 2500/- on average.At times i make more on market days and busy seasons.Iam using profits to pay for the boat in instalments and to take of my wife and one child.I do save too.
I need two more life jackets for my customers.This is for their safety.Sometimes i refuse to take in a person because i only have a few life jackets for the customers.Total cost will be $23 for two jackets.I will be able to serve more people.At the end of the day i will have made some more money.Life jackets are crucial in case of an accident customers will float in the lake and be rescued.
