Ruth Namfukwe is my family name. A mother of 3 children. I'm Namwanga by tribe. I come from Northern Zambia in Mbala town. I started school primary school in Mbala day primary school. Where I completed my grade 1 to 7, before qualifying for form 1 at Mbala Boarding Secondary School and completed my form 5. When I completed my form 5 , I lost my parents in a road traffic accident and my dreams to go to university was cut short as I was faced with financial challenges. Coming from a family of farmers, I decided to emulate my parents in farming business to over come financial challenges. I'm an entrepreneurs in farming business and I grow crops for sale and that is how I earn a living. After hearing of Zidisha loans , I got interested to apply of the loan so that I could have access to financial aid.
I am mainly involved in farming business , I grow vegetable crops of different types such tomatoes, rape, cabbages, onions, carrots and maize. Mainly sale these crops to the local people in our community and demand is very high especially maize meal which is the stable food for the people in our community. I need funds to buy farming inputs to grow more crops sale. I fail to meet demand because I only grow enough for home consumption and some for sale. With the growing demand I need at least ZMW 20,000.00 to buy farming inputs and grow more crops so that I could generate more revenue to support my children to pay school fees and improve the living standard of the family.
With funds I need at least to buy farming inputs such a D compound fertilizer, Top dressing, seedlings, pesticides and weed killer. Have been lacking farming for vegetable crops and maize hence not a production. Should I have farming inputs in place I will better production of crops and secure food security for family and the community at large
