Hi, Zidisha backers. My name is Salifyanji Mutombo, age 30 years old. I come from a family of 3 girls and 4 boys. I come from a humble background . I grew up with both parents who were peasnt farmers at the time. I started school during hardship times because my parents were peasant farmers who were growing crops on a small scale. Hence hardship was the older of day. Through encouragements and I concentrated on working hard at school and I stood out in primary school from garde 1 to 7. After obtaining good results I was selected to Chibombo boarding school, where I completed my form 5, despite the hardships I went through in paying my school fees and up keep at school.My dream was to complete my education and go to college so that I can do better in life and help up lift the living standard of my family and my siblings. I did strive to work hard work and I completed my form 5 and went to Monze School of Agriculture were I studies Agribusiness. Currently, I'm proud and I hold a Diploma in Agribusiness and pursuing a Degree program at the University of Zambia.
I'm involved in the farming businesses, growing up a house of peasant farmers, I have had the passion to become a farmer in future. I grow crops, rare animals or livestock both cows and poultry business. Currently I need finanancial support to buy fertilizer for my vegetable crops and maiza and I also need stock feeds for my poultry business. Currently I have 500 broiler chickens in the poutry house of which I about ZMW 20,000 to buy stock feeds and the drinkers, I need extra ZMW 10,000 to fertilizer and pesticides to prevent the crops from being eaten up by the break out of insects. Your financial support will help produce a good production of crops and broiler chickens to sale this festival season as deman during this period is very high. However, I also need to expand my poultry business and dairy production because of the demand of fresh milk and sour , therefore create jobs to the youths in our community and support the underprivilaged family members with financial support and improve the livingstand of my family today.
Due to good rainfall pattern, beside rearing livestock at the farms, I intend to grow maize and vegetable crops on large scale for sale, this is due increasing demand on market for vegetables and maize meal. Hence with the funds I need to buy the enough fertilizer , seedlings, pesticides and weed killer to allow the crops grow very well and produce a good crop production on a large scale and generate more income.
